Sampur Stupa : Bulldozer operator critically injured (Photos) 
The 2 persons who have involved in bulldozing the stupa in an archaeological site in Sampur have met with accidents.
Police said the bulldozer operator had met with an accident in Chilaw on Monday (Dec. 26) and he was transferred to National Hospital, Colombo as his condition became serious.
Meanwhile, the driver of the lorry that transported the bulldozer had fallen from his motor bicycle and admitted to Muttur Hospital.
Sources said later he was transferred to Trincomalee Hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, police found the lorry and bulldozer that were used to vandalize the archaeological site from 2 different locations.
The bulldozer was found hidden in Ichchlanpattu in Serunuwara and lorry was detected from Thoppur area.
Investigations revealed that the owner of those vehicles is the same person, a resident of Dankotuwa.
