Thane, Dec 29: Annoyed by the continuous pestering, a 45-year-old woman made his lover run over his ex-lover in Thane, Maharashtra. The woman confessed to plotting the murder of her ex-lover with the help of her current lover as she was tired of his continuous pestering. The Thane police on Thursday arrested the accused woman, Sumari Yadav, and her 32-year-old lover for plotting the murder of the victim named Ramji Sharma, a 46-year-old resident of Azad Nagar.
On November 16, 32-year-old Jaiprakash Chouhan ran over Sharma, while he was on his morning walk, and escaped. DCP Sunil Lokhande said Sharma succumbed to his injuries in a hospital over a month later. The murder was first made to look like a hit-and-run case. Further investigation, however, revealed that Sharma was murdered.
The police found the car, perfectly repaired, days after the incident. “They saw it had already been repaired, with the side mirror and fog lamp replaced, and the denting fixed and new painting, which raised doubts,” a police officer told Times of India. The woman was arrested after Sharma’s son casually mentioned that his father used to talk to his ex-lover but had stopped a few days ago.
When the woman’s call records were traced, the police found that she had many calls to Sharma and Chouhan during a few days before the murder. Sumari Yadav also revealed that Sharma used to follow her and her husband during morning walks. Annoyed with Sharma, Yadav plotted with Chouhan to murder him.
