Dancing On Ice 2018: Phillip Schofield reveals agonising torment ‘I can’t bear it’
DANCING ON ICE host Phillip Schofield has admitted that he is pushed to the limits thanks to the show and a rather unusual “phobia”.
The presenter has said he “can’t bear” all the glitter that comes with fronting the ITV competition, revealing that it drives him “crazy” behind the scenes.
Speaking ahead of the reboot’s launch next week, the 55-year-old opened up about his difficulties as he prepares to return to the ice rink with This Morning co-star Holly Willoughby.
When asked about his upcoming wardrobe, Phillip commented: “We are already talking about suits!”
“Every Monday morning, you will be covered in glitter,” Holly, 36, continued, teasing her companion and close friend.

I can’t bear it. Why? If it gets on your hands and you can’t get it off
Phillip went on: “The one thing that drives me crazy is the glitter. You have to get used to it on DOI. You can’t have a glitter phobia, which I have!
“I can’t bear it. Why? If it gets on your hands and you can’t get it off or there is a piece on your face and they start picking at your face, it drives me mad.”
Meanwhile, Holly does not have the same issues: “I haven’t started shopping yet. I am looking forward to that. There are not many shows where you can really glam up.”

The mother-of-three added: “I am also looking forward to seeing what the skaters are wearing - that whole explosion of sequins, glitter and glamour especially in January when it is just dark and dreary.”
Their remarks come after Phillip admitted he almost quit This Morning after Dancing On Ice, following his pitch to bosses about hiring Holly.
Dancing On Ice returns to ITV on January 7 at 6pm.
