A man has appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court charged with the murder of 41-year-old woman Alicia Little at a rural property in central Victoria yesterday.

Charles Evans, 44, was arrested yesterday afternoon after police were called to the property in Lavenders Lane, Kyneton, following reports of a domestic dispute.

In court, police informant Leigh Smyth said Ms Little had extensive blunt trauma injuries consistent with a motor vehicle collision.

Detective Senior Constable Smyth said emergency officers found Ms Little in the front yard and tried to resuscitate her, but she died from her injuries at the scene.

The court heard Mr Evans returned to the property at 5:30pm and was arrested by police.

In court, Mr Evans said he had "never been in trouble before and I don't know what to do".

He told the magistrate he wanted to "speak about everything but my solicitor told me not to".

Mr Evans has been remanded in custody to appear in court in Bendigo court next Tuesday.
