Today would have been Rajesh Khanna‘s 75th birthday, had he been alive. Incidentally, his daughter, Twinkle Khanna, too has her birthday today. While social media is filled with birthday wishes for the veteran actor, it was Twinkle’s heartfelt message for her late father that touched our hearts. She took to her Twitter and Instagram profile, earlier today, to share a black and white throwback pic of her standing beside her father. Both showed the victory sign, with their hands. She captioned her pic, “Happy Birthday Dad.” Despite the message being very simple, her heartfelt feelings for her father was palpable.
The pic dates back to the time when Rajesh Khanna won the elections in the 90s. The veteran actor was born in Amritsar, Punjab on December 29, 1942. He made his entry to the world of films in 1965, when he started shooting for Raaz and starred in 180 films, including 163 feature films and 17 short films. By 2011, he was the only actor to hold a record for maximum number of films as a solo lead hero and the least number of multi star cast films in Hindi cinema. His first tryst with success as an actor was ‘Akhri Khat’, followed by ‘Raaz’ and ‘Aurat’. He achieved super stardom status with Shakti Samantha’s ‘Aradhana’ in 1969. He also holds the world record for having 17 successive super-hits in 3 years from 1969-71 which included 15 consecutive solo super-hit films. The actor also bagged the Filmfare Best Actor Awards for three occasions and was nominated 14 times for the same. Meanwhile, Twinkle, who turned 43 today, is celebrating her special day with her family in Capetown, South Africa. She and her husband, Akshay Kumar, have been sharing pics from their vacay on their social media platforms giving us major family goals. However, with her post for her dad, we can make out just how much she is missing her dad on this special day. Speaking about her father, Twinkle had once tweeted, ” Dad always said I should be a writer- was proud of my maggot filled poetry-would’ve been beaming that I got that paper in my hand eventually.” Well, we couldn’t agree more.
