Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 4:53 p.m., Saturday, on Delaware Park Boulevard in the area of Churchman's Road in Stanton JOHN J. JANKOWSKI JR./SPECIAL TO THE NEWS JOURNAL
A man robbed a Townsend gas station Wednesday night with a large knife.
It was nearly 10 p.m. when a man entered the Valero Shore Stop at 4298 Dupont Parkway, just as the clerk was about to close for the night, police said.
The man asked for a pack of cigarettes when he reached the counter and the clerk, a 57-year-old woman, told him she'd take care of him, police said. Then he pulled out a knife and demanded the bag of money the woman was preparing to deposit, police said.
She turned over the money and the man fled to a waiting vehicle, which left going northbound on Dupont Parkway. The employee was not hurt, police said.
