Police believe a man who robbed an Arby's restaurant in Hartland last week may also be responsible for numerous other incidents in Oakland County.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said police responded to eight reports of armed robbery and one attempted armed robbery between Dec. 8 and Dec. 24, including two in Pontiac, two in Auburn Hills, three in Waterford Township and one in Port Huron in addition to the Hartland incident.

The first incident in Pontiac occurred just before 9 p.m. Dec. 23. Two restaurant employees, a 48-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man, told deputies the suspect pointed a handgun at them, directing the woman to turn over money in the cash register and the man to go to the back room. The second victim activated the panic alarm, and the suspect left the establishment on foot with approximately $100.
Livingston County Sheriff Mike Murphy said he didn’t yet have specifics on a connection between the incidents in Oakland County and the armed robbery at the Hartland Arby's last week, but noted his office works closely with other police agencies when the need arises.
The second incident occurred at the Thrifty Flowers in the 200 block of South Telegraph in Pontiac on Dec. 24. A 31-year-old Clarkston woman told deputies she saw a man come around the corner of the building and produce a black handgun as she opened the side door to the business to take a cigarette break. She ran back into the building and locked the door before the man could get in.
In the first incident, the suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5-feet, 7-inches to 5-feet, 9-inches tall, wearing a black puffy jacket and black mask covering his face. In the second incident, the suspect was described as a black heavy-set male, approximately 30 years old, wearing a blue hoodie, with a scarf covering his face.
No one was injured.
