TORRINGTON – Angelo Carta, 86, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at his home. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to the late Rita (Rossi) Carta, who preceded him in death in 2016.
Angelo was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Middletown, son of the late Santo and Maria Grazia (Aresco) Carta. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and then went on to become an electrical engineer at General Time Corporation and Inertia Dynamics until his retirement.
Angelo is survived by two sons, David Carta of New Jersey, and Michael Carta of Florida; a daughter, Carol Carta of Torrington; a sister, Mary Loccisano of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington. Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery, Torrington. Family and friends may call on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
