SONY
Thousands of PSN users are reporting issues with the Sony PlayStation Network this evening, with many believing that the service is down.
This isn't the most unbeliebable scenario and PSN does tend to have an annual wobble around the Christmas and New Year period.
On independent website Down Detector, over 1300 PSN users reported problems with the service.
Normally the website is pretty accurate with issues relating to online network services, which reported PSN having issues from around 9.40pm GMT last night.
However, a message on the official Sony PlayStation Network service stutus page reads:
"PlayStation™Network services are up and running, but there are external, internet-wide issues that may affect your experience.
"Once these external issues are resolved, you should have no problem connecting to PlayStation™Network."
It's currently unclear what these extenal issues are related to, and we can't see any direct internet services, such as Sky or BT that are seing huge spikes of reports so it's anyones guess.
