Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve has been named the organization's general manager, in addition to receiving a multi-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday.
Reeve has led the Lynx to four WNBA titles in eight seasons. She was recently named the Star Tribune's Sportsperson of the Year.
Reeve has a 195-77 record. Her promotion to GM makes her the sixth coach in the WNBA to hold the dual roles.
The Lynx made a number of other organizational moves on Thursday, as well.
Claire Duwelius, who held the role of basketball operations manager, is the now assistant general manager. Lynx assistant coaches Shelley Patterson and Walt Hopkins have agreed to contract extensions. Assistant coach James Wade remains on the staff.
"I appreciate Glen Taylor's confidence in me to continue to lead the Lynx organization," Reeve said. "I'm thrilled with the strong and passionate staff we've assembled and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead."
