A Springfield man was sentenced to 20 years in prison this month after police say he stabbed two men in the face in 2015.
Jason T. Rich, 41, pleaded guilty to first-degree assault in August, court records say.
According to a probable cause statement filed by police in June 2015, Rich stabbed two people in a north Springfield home in a seemingly unprovoked attack.
The statement said the two men suffered "severe" cuts on their faces and other stab wounds.
One of the victims allegedly identified Rich as the culprit and police say a GPS ankle bracelet put Rich at the home when the stabbing took place.
According to the statement, Rich had been watching TV in a living room with one of the men when the attack took place.
Judge Calvin Holden also sentenced Rich to 12 years in prison for a prior assault, court records say. Those sentences will run concurrently.
According to court records, Rich hit someone in the head with a beer bottle outside of a wedding reception in 2013.
