5 held for tea stall worker’s murder

Rajkot: Five persons, including two minors, were arrested for allegedly murdering a 30-year-old tea stall worker Mohsin Dabhariya over personal animosity in Jamnagar on Thursday. Mohsin's body was found with over half-a-dozen stab wounds under Subhash Bridge in Jamnagar on Wednesday morning.

The main accused were identified as Vireshwar alias Viru Chandravanshi, Hardik Makwana and Sagar Chauhan, all in mid-20s, and two minors. All are residents of Jamnagar and live in the same locality as Mohsin, near Subhash Bridge. They were arrested from Vora no Hajiro area near Subhash Bridge following specific information.


Explaining the motive behind murder, police said last month Mohsin had got a plaint filed against Vireshwar alias Viru and Hardik through his friend Prakash Vaghela, accusing them of indulging in anti-social activities.


Viru had altercation with Mohsin over the issue earlier. On Tuesday night, when Mohsin was out for a walk after dinner, the accused attacked him with knife and sharp object near Subha-sh Bridge. Mohsin died on the spot. The accused then dumped the body under the bridge.


According to the police, one of the accused Hardik and the two minors are accused in an attempt to murder case too.
