A new song from Kaalakaandi released today titled Kaala Doreya and it is equally quirky. We told you, it will give you a hangover and will be a good party number. Now after hearing we feel, it will get added to the DJ’s December 31st list soon. This Punjabi song has good potential to be a party score for 2018. The previous song titled Swagpur Ka Chaudhary had Haryanvi flavour. Saif Ali Khan dressed as a chicken adds to the quirkiness of the song.
Kaala Doreya is an old Punjabi folk song which is sung during marriages. Though the makers used it in similar settings, they added a modern twist to it with rapper Raxster and singer Neha Bhasin. The unconventional beats are composed by Sameer Uddin which is well balanced by Neha’s mellow voice. The video of the song gives glimpses from the movie which matches the trailer. The hip factor is added to the folk song with rapping by Raxster and has a special performance by Amyra Dastur and Akshay Oberoi. The song shows a range of Saif’s emotions, from flirting to teary outburst. While the trailer showed Saif getting a free ticket to enjoy his life after being detected by stomach cancer, both the songs follow a psychedelic side of Saif after taking pills which make him hallucinate things. The quirkiness takes a jump with Saif dressed like a chicken dancing on the floor. The song ends with Saif firing a blank shot from a gun. The chemistry between Saif and Isha Talwar shown in the song makes us intrigued about their love story. Produced by Cinestaan Film Company and Ashi Dua Sara of Flying Unicorn, the film stars Saif Ali Khan along with the eclectic ensemble of Deepak Dobriyal, Vijay Raaz, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Shenaz Treasury, Shivam Patil, Amyra Dastur and Neil Bhoopalam.
