Authorities say a man who was shot by police after allegedly robbing a Philadelphia deli and fleeing in a stolen SUV that he then rammed into an unmarked patrol car has been charged.
Police on Thursday said 21-year-old Basil Harrison has been charged with assault, robbery, reckless endangerment and carjacking.
Harrison allegedly robbed the deli at gunpoint Tuesday morning then took off in an SUV that had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
Officers reportedly caught up with Harrison after he hit another car then reversed into the officers' unmarked vehicle.
Police say one of the officers ordered Harrison to show his hands then shot him in the chest when he didn't comply.
Court records don't list an attorney for Harrison. He's hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
