Not against Mumbai metro but commuter hardships must be dealt with: Nirupam
Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam has written a letter to Maharashtra CM requesting him to find solution to hardship caused to commuters due to Mumbai metro construction work. In his letter he mentioned the metro rail work taking place in the western suburbs.
A metro line is getting constructed from DN Nagar to Dahisar but due to the construction activity the vehicular traffic has been affected. Due to this, a 30-40 minutes of journey is taking agonising two hours.
Nirupam has clarified in the letter that he is not against metro rail but the problem faced by the commuters has to be dealt with. Nirupam has said that the construction activity has caused congestion in these areas and commuting cost have going up.
These areas include Infinity Mall, Inorbit Mall, Meeth Chowki, Goregaon, Charkop and Borivali West. Double parking has added to the woes of commuters And The traffic police is not taking any action to solve this problem.
"Due to current construction work it has become impossible for residents to manage even a good sleep at night. We all must find solution to it thus I have written in a letter to CM." said Nirupam.
He has also requested CM to call a meeting with leaders of all political parties, officers from Mumbai Municipal corporation, traffic police and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority to ensure a comprehensive solution to end these problems.
