
Clerk pinned after minivan driver hits accelerator instead of brake and crashes into gas station

Media: OnScene.TVA man hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal when he was pulling into a parking spot at a Bellaire gas station, crashing into the convenience store and briefly pinning the store clerk behind the counter Wednesday night, according to Houston police.
At around 10 p.m. officers responded to the scene at a Valero at Bellaire Boulevard and Larkwood, said Houston police Lt. Larry Crowson.
The fire department was able to get the clerk out and he was not taken to the hospital, Crowson said. Crowson said the clerk had sore legs.
The Honda minivan driver did not appear to have any injuries, Crowson said.

Crowson said the driver will be cited for not having his drivers license, insurance and failing to control his speed.
