Jessica Falkholt: Director hails 'rising star' actress who is fighting for life after crash that killed her parents
Updated

The director of a film whose lead actress is fighting for life after a triple-fatal crash on the New South Wales south coast says she was "on her way to stardom".

Jessica Falkholt, 28, who appeared in the TV series Home and Away, was critically injured in the Boxing Day crash along with her sister, Annabelle Falkholt, 21.
The sisters' parents died in the crash that happened on the Princes Highway at Mondayong, about 400 metres north of the Bendalong turnoff.
The driver of the other car involved in the head-on collision, a 50-year-old man, also died.
Police said the crash was caused by one car being on the wrong side of the road.
The director of soon-to-be released Australian film Harmony, in which Jessica Falkholt has the starring role, said the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) alumna is an "amazing actress".
"She was incredible to work with, very passionate, 1000 per cent with every take," Corey Pearson said.
"I'm looking forward to showing the world what she's done with Harmony but then seeing what she goes on to do in the future.
"I know she will recover from this."
Pearson, who has had other friends involved in crashes this week, said more than ever this is a time to be extra careful on the roads.
"I'm kind of beside myself at the moment," he said.
Others in the industry have also pleaded for caution on the roads and sent good wishes to the Falkholt sisters.
"I cannot stress enough to please drive safe these holidays guys," fellow Home and Away actor Jackson Heywood said.
"Can we please send all our support, love and prayers to Jess and her sister Annabelle.
"Much love darlin. I'm wit ya."
Actress Jacqueline McKenzie, who also has a role in Harmony, said it was "utterly devastating news" and working with Jessica was a "great pleasure".
Harmony, a supernatural thriller almost entirely shot in the Illawarra, is due to be released next year.
