Modi, Shah, Advani to attend swearing-in

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah’s presence among a large number of Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of other states, the swearing-in ceremony of Jai Ram Thakur as the 13th Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh is all set to be a magnificent show of political strength of the BJP. Former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani will also be attending the grand event.

The swearing-in ceremony to be held at the historic Ridge Ground in Shimla, would also be attended by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Union Surface and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar and Party state in-charge Thawar Chand Gehlot.   

Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister, Haryana; Manohar Parrikar, CM Goa; Yogi Adityanath, CM Uttar Pradesh; Vasundhara Raje, CM Rajasthan; Dr Raman Singh, CM Chhattisgarh; Devender Gangadhar Fadnavis, CM Maharashtra; Sarbananda Sonowal, CM Assm; Pema Khandu, CM Arunachal Pradesh; Dr Nirmal Singh, Deputy CM Jammu and Kashmir; Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma, Deputy CMs Uttar Pradesh; Sushil Kumar Modi, Deputy CM, Bihar would also grace the ceremony.

The preparations for the swearing-in ceremony have been completed. As the CM Designate Jai Ram Thakur himself visited the venue with Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda to take stock of the preparations in the evening.  Thakur also presided over a meeting to review the preparations for visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries, who would be visiting state capital Shimla for the oath taking ceremony on Wednesday.

Thakur has directed authorities for complete co-ordination for assisting VVIPs. He also urged party workers for better co-ordination so that the guests visiting Shimla might not face any inconvenience. It has also been decided to install 8 to 10 LED screens at different places for live telecast of the swearing-in ceremony of the new CM. One such LED screen would also be installed at Seri Manch in Mandi, Kullu and Sundernagar.

Modi will reach Shimla by 10.0 AM and he would return by noon. The entire operation for the preparations was looked after by Rohan Chand Thakur, Deputy Commissioner, Shimla. Thakur said the stage for the swearing-in had been made and sitting arrangements for the VVIPs and other people had been completed. He said that a stage had been raised besides the podium at Ridge and all the VVIPs would be sitting on the stage.

He said that the traffic divsions had been made to ensure smooth movement of traffic on roads due to heavy security arrangements. He said that more than a thousand cops had been deployed on security, and thee teams of NSG and SPG had also been looking after the security arrangements of the VVIPs.
