BUNNELL — A man from the Cincinnati area was in the county jail Tuesday on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct and sexual battery against a minor.

Michael Craig Bowling, 46, was arrested Saturday by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and was being held without bail.

According to arrest affidavits, Bowling is accused of engaging in multiple sexual acts between February 2015 and September 2016 with a girl between the ages of 12 and 16 at an address in Bunnell.

On Sept. 30, 2016, a forensic interview was conducted with the girl, as well as a medical exam. During the interview, she said the sexual abuse had been going on since she was 8 years old.

Bowling is also accused of committing lewd and lascivious battery on a child and exposing himself in the presence of a child in June or July 2016, according to the affidavits.

These charges stem from a “game” the girl said she and a friend were playing with Bowling. Investigators report having found evidence of semen at the site of the “game.”

According to the affidavit, investigators asked Bowling if he had gone into a closet — referring to one part of the game — and he said, “Hell, no; I didn’t go in the closet.” He told investigators he remembered the game but said that he didn’t play it, the report said.

According to the booking report, Bowling is charged with three counts of sexual battery, three counts of lewd and lascivious conduct, one count of lewd and lascivious battery, and one count of lewd and lascivious exhibition.
