Danny Murphy makes massive claim about Jesse Lingard on Match of the Day... is he right?

DANNY MURPHY claims Jesse Lingard has better movement than any other player at Manchester United.

Lingard, 25, came off the bench to salvage a point for United against Burnley on Boxing Day.

Jose Mourinho's super-sub netted twice as Manchester United came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2, justifying the decision to take off Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford were all in action for United but Murphy says Lingard trumps them in the movement stakes.

He told Match of the Day: "They started with Zlatan and Lukaku up top together in a 4-4-2 and it didn't quite work, they were too far apart and not combining very well.

"When Lingard came on, he made a big difference, as did Henrikh Mkhitaryan. They both made an impact.

"Lingard has been adding goals to his game which was a criticism of him recently.

The Match of the Day pundits heap praise on Jesse Lingard

"What he does, he keeps getting in there. He keeps making runs off the ball and I think his movement is as good as I've seen from any United player off the ball.

"When I've seen him live, he's forever moving. He loves running without the ball and getting into dangerous areas.

"The fact he kept getting in there after making a couple of misses.

"When he gets in there he's going to get goals, he's playing in a kind of second striker role where he can see spaces, a bit similar to Dele Alli to Spurs.

"He saved the day really but United, home to Burnley, it's the type of game they should be winning."
