Indore: Driver of pvt firm decamps with car, Rs 5 lakh cash

Indore : City police booked a driver of a private company for fleeing with Rs 5 lakh cash and car of his owner in Vijay Nagar area on Monday. The accountant of the company went for some work leaving cash in the car when the accused fled. The accused could not be arrested by police till filing of this report.

According to the police, the incident took place near Raghunath Petrol Pump in Vijay Nagar. Accountant of a Bhopal based company, Prabhashankar Mishra stated in his complaint that he along with driver Sardar Singh Pawar of Nagda had come to city in the company’s car for making a payment of Rs 5 lakh to a supplier of the company a couple of days ago.

They were passing through AB Road when Mishra stopped for some work near petrol pump. He kept the bag containing money, his mobile phone in the car and asked the driver to wait for some time.

However, after a few minutes as he came back he found the car was missing. He also tried to contact the driver Sardar Singh but in vain. Later, Mishra informed senior officials of his company and tried to search driver. On Monday, he lodged a complaint with police.
