Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger confirms TRIPLE injury blow, three stars out until New Year

ARSENE WENGER has confirmed he will be without three players until the New Year ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Crystal Palace tomorrow night.

Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monreal will all miss the trip to Selhurst Park.

Giroud picked up a hamstring injury in the EFL Cup win over West Ham earlier this month and initial reports suggested he would be out for around six weeks.

However, Arsene Wenger is hopeful the Frenchman will be back in mid-January.

Meanwhile, Monreal will be sidelined for 10 days, with Ramsey due back at the beginning of January, Wenger claimed during his press conference this morning.

Following Arsenal’s trip to south London, the Gunners visit West Brom on New Year’s Eve before welcoming Chelsea to the Emirates four days later.

All three players could also miss the FA Cup clash with Nottingham Forest on January 7 before Arsenal play Chelsea once again three days later, this time in the Carabao Cup semi-final.

Arsenal go into their clash with Crystal Palace sixth in the Premier League table, four points behind fourth-placed Liverpool.

Wenger's side suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to the Eagles in their trip to Selhurst Park last season but former Gunner Paul Merson believes they can have better fortunes this time around.

“This will be a good game. You look at Arsenal against Liverpool and it was an entertaining game,” Merson said.

“But seriously, you are not going to win anything at all playing like that. I am going to go 3-2 to Arsenal though.”
