SANTA CLARA, Calif: Hortonworks, Inc. (NASDAQ: HDP), a leading provider of global data management solutions, today announced that it has been named by Deloitte as one of the fastest growing technology companies in North America.
This recognition comes as part of the release of Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 annual rankings, which include the fastest growing companies in the technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, and energy technology sectors.
"Since our founding in 2011, we have known that achieving meaningful growth would only come through investing in our team members, building strong partnerships with our expanding customer base and maintaining an active leadership role as contributors to the Open Source community," said Rob Bearden, CEO, Hortonworks. "Hortonworks is extremely proud of its growth and everyone here is honored to again receive this recognition from Deloitte."
In September, Hortonworks announced their newest engine for long-term future growth with the introduction of Hortonworks DataPlane Service (Hortonworks DPS), a service that reimagines and automates delivery of the modern data architecture. Hortonworks DPS makes it simple to provision and operate distributed data systems no matter the use case, whether for data science, self-service analytics or data warehousing optimization. And because security and governance capabilities are built-in and based on open source technologies such as Apache Atlas and Apache Ranger, Hortonworks DPS users will enjoy easy access to trusted data available behind the firewall, public cloud or a combination. This enables organizations to get secure and trusted lineage from source to destination, regardless of type or origin.
