David Moyes blasts officials for two mistakes in controversial Callum Wilson goal

DAVID MOYES has blasted the match officials for giving Callum Wilson’s leveller that denied West Ham a Boxing Day win at Bournemouth.

David Moyes was unhappy with Callum Wilson's leveller

The Hammers led 3-2 in stoppage time when Wilson went up for a header.

The ball went in off his arm and he also appeared to be offside, with the linesman initially flagging.

But when Bobby Madeley went over to discus the incident, the decision was overturned and the goal stood.

West Ham’s players were fuming with the referee as Cherries fans celebrated in the stands.

And Moyes has hit out at the officials for missing what he believes were two opportunities to dismiss the goal.

The worst thing is the Bournemouth player puts it in with the top of his arm

David Moyes

"I don't know why he would not go with his linesman's decision,” he said.

“The offside could be close, the linesman gives it as an offside goal but the worst thing is the Bournemouth player puts it in with the top of his arm so it should be ruled out for that.

“For both decisions to be ruled out is disappointing."

Wilson himself was sheepish when he was asked about his leveller after the game.

“Sometimes you get those decisions against you,” he said.

“I tried to go in as a striker and follow the ball in and put a little touch on it to our delight but not to West Ham’s.”

Asked what kind of touch he got on the ball, he said: “Magic.”
