FIREFIGHTERS had to rescue a woman and a three-year-old child who had become locked in a house in a seaside town on Christmas Day.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service were called to the property in Havelock Street, Bridlington, at about 3.45pm on Monday.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said the woman and three-year-old child were "locked inside house due to a faulty lock".

Firecrews gained access to the house through a bedroom window on the first floor, before freeing them both, uninjured.
