A MOTORIST was arrested in the early hours of Boxing Day after allegedly driving on a pavement while drunk.
North Yorkshire Police took to social media and said the man was "trying to drive down the footpath on Walmgate Bar in York" at about 1.45am on Tuesday.
The spokesman said "unsurprisingly he was over the prescribed alcohol limit", and had given a breathalyser reading of 87 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitre of breath. The legal limit is 35.
