Jaipur: A 27-year-old unmarried woman working as a freelance anchor for various events and cultural shows ended her life by hanging from the ceiling at her Rani Sati Nagar under Shyam Nagar police station area late on Monday evening.

According to the police the woman was at her residence when her parents had gone out to bring her elder sister. "She was seen purchasing milk and noodles from the grocery store. She also had noodles before hanging from the ceiling," said a senior police officer.

The incident came to the notice late in the evening when the family returned home. "The house was locked from inside. Family members kept asking the woman to open the door but they got no response from inside," the officer added.

Finally, expecting the worst the family intimated the police. "It is a clear case of suicide. We have also recovered a suicide note from the spot in which the woman has stated that she is responsible for her death and nobody should be questioned and hassled on why she took the extreme step," said Anil Jaiman, circle inspector, Shyam Nagar police station.

Police are also investigating the reasons behind the drastic step the woman took.
