None of this is how Danica Patrick envisioned her racing retirement going, but she's embracing it.
Without a full-time ride in the NASCAR Cup Series for the 2018 season, Patrick tearfully announced in November that she will end her racing career with NASCAR's Daytona 500 in February and IndyCar Series' Indy 500 in May.
Patrick is still an entrepreneur though, with a clothing line, a wine label and her newly released health and fitness book, Pretty Intense. In an interview with espnW, the NASCAR driver talked about her book and threw out some other ideas for what she could do in her racing retirement, including having a cooking show.

When asked about how she's approaching the idea of retirement, Patrick said, via espnW:
Retirement looks bright! I think many people retire and don't know what they're going to do next and have to figure it out, but I know what I'm going to do. I don't doubt that [retirement] will change and shift my life in ways I would never expect, so I've got to be ready for that. …
I'd like to expand in the book world as well. I don't even know what that might lead to, exactly. Maybe it leads to public speaking engagements - generally that arena of educating people. That could take any shape.
I'd also like to have a cooking show, to help people learn how to cook healthily. So those are my retirement plans. Not much, ha!
Oh yeah, I'd like to travel, catch a few concerts and see some places in the world that I've never seen. Those are just the fun things on the side.
Patrick wanting to write another book isn't a surprise, but having a cooking show is.

She loves to cook - there are dozens of healthy recipes in her book - and because she often shares her creations with her followers, her Instagram account is basically one step away from a cooking how-to guide already. Her fans would welcome something like this, and everyone could learn some of Patrick's healthy eating tips.
