A day after being named as the new chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, the CM deignate Jai Ram Thakur on Monday got into action mode making visits to the Raj Bhawan and to hospitals and reviewing arrangements for the swearing in ceremony on Wednesday.
He distributed fruits to the children and patients at Deen Dayal Upadhaya hospital, Shimla on occasion of birthday of former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He also announced a digital x-ray machine for the hospital.
Accompanied by MLAs, Rajeev Bindal, Suresh Bhardwaj, Vinod Kumar and Member of Parliament, Ram Swaroop Sharma, the Chief Minister visited the children ward. He also met other patients admitted in different wards of the hospital and enquired about their well being.
Thakur also paid a courtesy visit to Raj Bhawan and held discussion with Governor Acharaya Devvrat.
He later took stock of the arrangements of Prime Ministers visit for the oath taking ceremony on 27 December at the Historic ridge.
Later, the Chief Minister designate also met the blood donors in the blood donation camp organised by Umang Foundation at Ridge.
Thakur, who will be sworn in on Wednesday, will be the 14th Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. He won his fifth consecutive assembly election from Seraj, in Mandi district and will be the first Chief Minister from the district
