The awareness programme was organised with the assistance of NSS Students and more than 2000 road safety awareness pamphlets, educating the people to wear helmet while riding two wheeler, not to use mobile while driving, don’t drink & drive, wear Seat Belt etc. on road safety were distributed. Sweets were also distributed to the people through the participant NSS Students who were in costumes of Santa Clause in view of Christmas. A quiz was also organised at these venues for females and questions on road safety were asked to them.

Helmets were awarded  as prize to winners who answered the questions correctly as a compliment from Chandigarh Traffic Police. A total of 20 helmets were presented to girls at different venues. "The main motive to distribute helmets amongst the females was to encourage them to wear it, so that accident fatalities due to head injuries may be reduced in the City Beautiful," said a statement from Traffic Police.
