In a heartwarming twist of fate, two best friends recently found out after 60 years of friendship that they are actually biological brothers.
The two Hawaii natives, Alan Robinson and Walter Macfarlane, who were born only 15 months apart, first met in sixth grade.
In addition to the closeness of age, the boys also bonded over an absence of family - Robinson was adopted and Macfarlane never knew his father.
Forming a close relationship, the two Oahu men stayed friends for the past 60 years, entertaining themselves with fierce competitions over games of cribbage.
However, Macfarlane uncovered the truth after turning to a DNA matching website in the hopes he could identify relatives - and finding the username Robi737 at the top of the list.

Upon further digging, Macfarlane realised Robi737 was none other than his best friend - who had also turned to the site for answers.
Sharing several matches in DNA, as well as identical X chromosomes, the best friends realised the truth behind their brotherly bond.
To cement what they already knew, the two best friends compared forearms - and took the same hairy forearms as the final piece of their identification puzzle.
The biological brothers have been friends for 60 years
Since finding out the truth, just in time for Christmas, the brothers have shared the happy discovery with their families.
As for their futures, the brothers, who have both retired, have made plans to travel together.
And they lived happily ever after.
