Angul (Odisha), Dec 26: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday said that his organisation was committed to ‘Hindutva’ and minorities including Muslims are safe in India. Addressing RSS workers at an event, Mohan Bhagwat said, “RSS does not play politics. It is committed to Hindutva, which means tolerance.” The event was attended by Union ministers Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradhan.
Mohan Bhagwat, who is on a three-day visit to Odisha, claimed that minorities are safe in India and Muslims “live happily here”. The RSS chief also said that Hinduism is a way of life and not just a religion. Hindus across the world have always given a message of peace and never tried to interfere in the independence of any country, Bhagwat said.
“When the western world looks east, they find India and China. But they (western world) do not have faith in China due to its aggressive attitude. All have faith in India. India can emerge as a global leader,” he said. Recently, addressing a public function in Tripura, Bhagwat had said, “The Muslims in India are also Hindus. We have no enmity with anyone. We want the welfare of all.”
“Hindutva is different from Hinduism and today the disturbed Western world is eagerly waiting with expectations towards India’s Hinduism and its philosophy which has its roots deep in ‘Sanatan Dharm’ and shall revive their society out of the curse. So, to fulfil their expectations Hinduism has become more important today,” he said.
