JAMMU: A delegation of Bari Brahman Industries Association (BBIA) led by its, President, Lalit Mahajan met C.L Dogra Additional Commissioner (P&V), Gyan Sarvar Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner of Custom and Central Excise Jammu, Iftikhar Ahmed Chowdhary to discuss the issues related to industrial sector of J and K.
Mahajan raised serious concern in respect of non-release of credit lying in PLA as on July 8, 2017, show cause notices issued by the department in respect of denial of CENVET Credit availed by the unit and rejection of refund claims due to delay in the filing of returns prior to June 30, 2017 resulting in hardships being faced by the industrial sector of J and K due to blockage of crores of rupees lying in PLA account of the unit holders due to which they are facing acute shortage of funds.
Further, Mahajan asked the commissioner for the timely release of the GST refund as per the notification of Central Government for the smooth functioning of the industrial units.
Sarvar listed all the issues raised by BBIA patiently and informed that the refund of amount lying in PLA shall be released and rest of the demands have already been taken up with the higher authorities for necessary clarification to resolve the issues on the priority basis.
Suresh Mahajan Senior Vice President, Varun Singla Vice President, Ajay Langer, General Secretary, Vivek Singhal Secretary and Viraaj Malhotra Treasurer were also part of the delegation.
