A day before the BJD’s 20th year foundation day celebration, the BJP on Monday put ‘20 questions’ on different issues and asked the ruling party to answer those in the public.
Citing the questions, BJP State General Secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said, “When will the small chit fund depositors get back their money and corpus fund be formed as decided by the State Government?”
Besides, the Chief Minister should tell when compensation would be disbursed among kin of farmers, who have ended lives over crop damage and loan burden.
He wanted to know why farmers are selling paddy at `700-800 per quintal when the Central Government has fixed minimum support price of `1,550 per quintal.
Why the State Government has decided to collect a total fine of `17,000 crore on the plea of the court verdict when it had earlier served notice to collect `61,000 crore as fines.
Harichandan wanted that the Chief Minister give a reply as to why 87 per cent CHC have no expert doctors and 57 per cent PHCs have not regular doctors. The CM should say when 44,000 teacher posts would be filled up in schools.
He also wanted to know why the Government has failed to create irrigation facilities when the ruling party had made tall promises of creating irrigation facilities for 30 per cent land.
This apart, the BJP leader wanted know why the unemployment situation has worsened and lakhs of Odia youths are going outside in search of work now.
Among others, party vice-president Sameer Mohanty, spokespersons Sajjan Sharma, Dillip Mohanty and Golak Prasad Mohapatra, State secretary Dillip Mallick, Mahila Morcha State president Prabhati Parida were present.
