1. The loser of this game finishes last in the AFC South. If the Texans win, they’ll finish 5-11 and two games ahead of Indianapolis. If the Colts win, they’ll both finish 4-12, but the Colts would earn third place by virtue of sweeping the Texans. Indianapolis won the first game 20-14 at NRG Stadium. It would be the Texans’ first time in last place since 2013 when they were 2-14. It would be the Colts’ first trip to the division basement since 2011 when they were 2-14.

2. The Colts are coming off a tough 23-16 loss to Baltimore. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett completed 16-of-33 for 215 and one touchdown. He didn’t throw an interception, and he was sacked twice. The Colts have surrendered 54 sacks, giving them a minus-30 sack differential. Brissett is trying to increase his record to 3-0 against the Texans. He beat them in NRG Stadium this season. In 2016, he helped New England shut out the Texans at Gillette Stadium while Tom Brady was suspended.

3. The Texans’ defense figures to have trouble covering receiver T.Y. Hilton. He has a history of burning the Texans. Against Baltimore, he had six catches for 100 yards, giving him 54 for 952 and eager to break the 1,000-yard barrier against the Texans. They’ll also have to contend with running back Frank Gore, 34. He had 17 carries and 68 yards against the Ravens. For the season, he has 861 yards. He should have trouble reaching 1,000 because the Texans have been good against the run.
