Out of 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 32 closed in the green.
NEW DELHI: Shares of Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (number of shares traded: 2.74 crore), NHPC (2.01 crore), DLF (1.56 crore) and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (1.13 crore) stood as the most traded stocks on NSE on Tuesday.

They were followed by stocks such as Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.01 crore), Punjab National Bank (1.00 crore), NTPC (0.98 crore), ITC (0.95 crore), State Bank of India (0.93 crore), YES Bank (0.93 crore), Vedanta Ltd (0.92 crore) and Tata Power (0.85 crore).

The NSE Nifty50 and Sensex settled in the green zone on Tuesday after hitting fresh record highs of 10,545 and 34,062, respectively, extending the gains for the second consecutive session.

The Nifty50 index closed Tuesday's session 39 points up at 10,532, while 30-share Sensex settled 70 points up at 34,011.

With a gain of over 3 per cent, Bharti Airtel settled as the top gainer, followed by Ambuja Cements, Cipla, Bosch, Vedanta and Reliance Industries.

On the other hand, Coal India, State Bank of India, Indian Oil Corporation, NTPC, Hindustan Unilever and Mahindra & Mahindra remained among the top losers in the Nifty50 index.

Out of 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 32 closed in the green, while 18 in the red on Tuesday.
