The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden has welcomed a new baby.
The zoo in a Monday tweet announced its female aardvark, Ali, welcomed a 3-pound baby boy on Thursday.
"Peace on Earth! Ali the aardvark and her 4-day-old baby boy will spend the holidays cuddling and bonding behind the scenes," the zoo tweeted. "The newborn is doing well and weighs a little over three pounds, which is in the normal range for this species."
Aardvarks like Ali and her new baby, which live in the Zoo's Night Hunters exhibit, weigh 88 to 143 pounds and live to be about 10 years old.
