Christians celebrate birth of Jesus Christ
The Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith led last night's Christmas mass which was held at the church of Saint Peter and Paul on the eve of Christmas last night (24).
 
Delivering his Christmas message, the Archbishop of Colombo offered his best wishes of peace for the people in Sri Lanka as well as in the world.
 
President Maithripala Sirisena extended his warmest greetings to all the Christians on this Christmas day.
 
Christmas has often been depicted as a reunion of powerful divinity and fragile humanity.
 
The President, in his Christmas day message said that the glorious reunion occurred with the coming of Jesus Christ, who instilled the values of love, sacrifice, and justice in the society, marking a significant victory for humanity.
 
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said in a Christmas message that Christians in Sri Lanka and all over the world rejoice at Christmas which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.
 
The message adds that the spirit of Christmas is shared universally and is a time to spread goodwill, love, and joy that the birth of Christ brings.
