Senior Congress leader and party in-charge for Chhattisgarh PL Punia alleged on Sunday that BJP won three consecutive elections in Chhattisgarh on false promises.
“The BJP has habit of making false promises to people at the time of elections,’’ Punia said while speaking in Bhilai at the 261st birth anniversary celebrations function of great social reformer Baba Guru Ghasidas.
He claimed that BJP won assembly elections in the state three times in a row on basis of false poll promises. Rs Rs Whatever BJP makes promises with people during election campaign, it forgets after winning polls, the BJP government has impeded growth and worsened economic plight of tribals, Satnami community and other backward classes’’ Punia remarked.
He further said that poor and backward people have been harassed and victimised during the BJP Govt and in many areas people committed suicides because government did not care of them. He advised people to be wary of BJP’s false poll promises and teach the government a lesson in assembly polls scheduled in the state later next year.
C’garh Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Bhupesh Baghel and Leader of the Opposition in State Assembly TS Singhdeo also addressed the gathering and urged people to follow the path of truth as shown by Baba Guru Ghasidas.
