In-laws booked for abetting woman’s suicide

Rajkot: A woman hanged herself to death from the ceiling of her house in Shiv Shakti Colony on University Road in Rajkot on Sunday evening.

Police identified the deceased as Heena Tabassum Ansari (28) and booked her husband Salim Ansari and her in-laws on the plaint of her father Mohammed Aminuddin Ansari (55), a resident of TB Hospital area in Surendranagar on Sunday.


"In his complaint, Mohammed Aminuddin Ansari alleged that his son-in-law Salim, his father Alamgiri Ansari, his mother Farida Ansari, his brother Nasim Ansari and Nasim's wife Shabana Ansari, used to torture Heena physically and mentally for not bringing dow-ry and not doing household wo-rk properly. Ansari's complaint alleged that tired of this, Heena took the drastic step," said an official from Rajkot Mahila police station, where the case has been registered.
