Aussie opener Aaron Finch has emerged as the top-ranked batsman in the Twenty20 format dethroning Indian skipper Virat Kohli as per the latest ICC rankings released on Monday.
On the bowlers list, Jasprit Bumrah has been pushed to third position. In the team rankings, a 3-nil T20 whitewash of Sri Lanka helped India to take second position with 121 rating points. Pakistan with 124 points tops the team rankings.
Kohli has been pushed to the third position because of his absence from the just concluded 3 match T20 series against SriLanka owing to his marriage. As per ICC rules, players lose two per cent of their ratings for each T20 match they miss. Kohli’s points, therefore, dropped from 824 to 776.
Jasprit Bumrah missed out on the final T20 and went wicketless in the first two games of the series and thus slipped two spots down. This gave opportunity to Pakistani spinner Imad to take the top spot and he is followed by Afghan lad Rashid Khan.
Among other Indians, Yuzvendra Chahal jumped 14 spots up to take the 16th position. K.L.Rahul jumped 23 points to grab 4th position in batsmen’s list while Rohit Sharma’s phenomenal knock of 118 in the Indore T20 match against Sri Lanka pushed him to 14th spot.
