The build up to Christmas is always special - hectic and wearing on the gift-givers. But the calming effect after the holiday is most welcome. Time to regroup.
I don’t know about you, but the New Year’s holiday is always, at least to me, an also-ran. I have never been a big fan of New Year’s parties and all that goes with them.
We usually have a quiet evening with another couple or two and see the New Year in while falling asleep as a group in our living room. We try and watch the ball come down in Times Square or wherever it is, and then call it a night.
I get up on New Year’s Day anticipating the year to come and try and put in order some of the things I know are going to happen. Then I try and brace for the things we know will happen that are not expected.
The New Year is a clean slate, and we try and do better than we did in the old year. It’s full of possibilities and potential, we hope.
To all of you, from all of us, may the New Year bring you the prosperity and good fortune you and your family deserve.
Happy New Year! God’s blessing.
