For the second time in four seasons, Todd Graham and Arizona State football are back in El Paso, Texas.

Outgoing head coach Graham, a Texas native, will coach ASU for the final time against North Carolina State in the Hyundai Sun Bowl on Friday.

The Sun Devils (7-5) arrived at El Paso International Airport Monday morning and practiced that day, as well.

The Sun Devils are playing in a bowl for the fifth time in Graham’s six seasons, the only miss coming last season. ASU beat Duke 36-31 in the 2014 Sun Bowl in El Paso.

When ASU Vice President of Athletics Ray Anderson informed Graham he was being fired the day after ASU's Territorial Cup win last month, Anderson gave Graham the chance to coach the Sun Devils in the Sun Bowl. Graham didn't hesitate.

“That was the first thing that entered my mind – I want to finish,” Graham said then. “I told Ray and the administration that we would do everything in our power – I would – to help in that process. It won't be uncomfortable at all for us.”

Former NFL coach and ESPN analyst Herm Edwards was hired as Graham's successor.

ASU will face NC State (8-4) at Sun Bowl Stadium at 1 p.m. on Friday.
