LUDHIANA: The Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organization (
FICO) organised a workshop cum awareness programme on 'Zero Defect Zero Effect' (ZED) certification scheme in its office near Janta Nagar. Fifty businessmen got registered for the scheme on the spot.
The programme was presided over by zonal general manager of
National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Paramjeet Singh along with AGM of SBI, Bharat Kumar. Others present on the occasion included FICO general secretary,
Manjinder Singh Sachdeva and propaganda secretary Satnam Singh Makkar.
Speaking on the occasion, FICO president Gurmeet Kular said the basic objective of the programme was to foster awareness among owners of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) about manufacturing according to the ZED scheme and motivating them to assess their enterprise's performance for ZED rating. "Most of the quality management systems being used in India like Lean manufacturing and Kaizan are based on Japanese theory, but ZED is an indigenous model introduced by PM Modi himself. In next decade
ZED certification will be the leader in India", he said.
Kular added that the participants were made aware about the schemes and subsidies being offered by the MSME department for the industrialists and that more than 50 businessmen of his association were registered, on the spot, for ZED certification.
