Celtic have dismissed reports that they have accepted an offer for Moussa Dembele as "nonsense" after Brighton were said to be close to signing the centre-forward.
Sky Sports reported on Monday that the Bhoys had reached agreement on a £18m transfer.
But the Scottish champions have resolutely denied any truth in the story.
The 21-year-old striker is wanted by a number of Premier League clubs, including Everton, despite struggling for gametime with Brendan Rodgers' side.
Dembele hasn't completed 90 minutes for Celtic since early November and there is an increasing belief that the Parkhead club could cash in on the highly-rated young forward.
Brighton, for their part, are desperate for reinforcements in attack after failing to secure a striker in the summer. Albion want competition for Glenn Murray and Tomer Hemed.
