The BJD is all braced up to celebrate its 20th foundation day in Puri’s Talabania ground on Tuesday. On Sunday, some senior party leaders reviewed the arrangements at the ground.
Already, posters and banners regarding the event, which would be addressed by BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, have flooded the road from Bhubaneswar to Puri.
BJD general secretary Sanjay Dasburma said the Centre’s continuous neglect of Odisha, be it the Mahanadi river dispute with Chhattisgarh, the Polavaram row with Andhra Pradesh, the Union Government’s refusal to hike the minimum support price of paddy and the refusal of Odisha’s demand for Special Category State status would be highlighted during the foundation day celebrations.
Rajya Sabha member and BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deo said the BJD is in power for over 17 years. During the Puri event, the various developmental schemes undertaken by the BJD Government for the welfare of the people would be pointed out to the public.
Besides, what challenges the party faced during this period and the challenges ahead and the strategies to counter hem would be discussed. A roadmap for the future keeping in mind the party’s vision would also be formulated.
