Team India coach Ravi Shastri spoke exclusively to India Today's Boria Majumdar as Virat Kohli's men gear up to leave for the tour of South Africa next month.
India have been in brilliant form in 2017, winning 37 international matches and 14 series on the trot. They signed off the year with a 3-0 whitewash over Sri Lanka in the T20I seires and now look well prepared for the rigours of the South African tour.
India have never won a Test series in South Africa and Shastri believes his team has the potential to rewrite history this time. Shastri, who replaced Anil Kumble as coach earlier this year, also took on experts who have questioned MS Dhoni's role in the Indian T20 tea, and added they should introspect what they were like on the field at the age of 36.
The Indian coach also heaped praise on his skipper Virat Kohli in the course of an engaging interview.
