2 killed in Cox's Bazar road crash

Cox's Bazar: Two people were killed and five others injured in a road accident in Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar early Monday.

The deceased, Arman Hossain, 38, son of Idris Ali, hailed from Chandgaon area of Chittagong district, and microbus driver Shahedul Islam Pappu, 35, son of late Barek Hossain, was a resident of Dulahajara area of Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar. 

Chiringa Highway Police sergeant Nure Alam Palash said a micorbus bearing some officials and employees of Mostafa Group of Industries collided head-on with a covered van in Bhandaria Depa area of North Harbang in the upazila around 5:30am, leaving two men dead on the spot, and five injured.

The injured were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Meanwhile, the bodies were sent to the Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue.
