Celtic will sell Moussa Dembele in January, West Ham and Everton keen on £27m-rated star

CELTIC are prepared to sell Moussa Dembele in the summer.

Moussa Dembele GETTY

Moussa Dembele could be sold in Janaury

Dembele has been a huge hit at Parkhead following his move north of the border from Fulham 18 months ago.

The Frenchman has been prolific in front of goal, leading to clubs sending scouts to check him out.

And Transfer Window podcast guest Ian McGarry thinks they might get their way.

“Moussa Dembele - I know from information and am convinced Celtic will sell in January if they can.

“The reason for that is Dembele is not the same hot property he was this time last year or indeed six months ago when clubs were offering in excess of £20m and there was a queue.

“I think that’s because the player himself has suffered some minor injuries and his form and goals have tailed off a bit and I think Celtic are making a business decision to market the player in this January window in the hope they can get around the £26-£27m I’m told they are asking for.

“I don’t think there will be any takers at that cost yet.

“There’s certainly interest from lower-half Premier League clubs who a talent like Moussa Dembele would be appealing to, West Ham have an interest in him, Everton have an interest in him. And probably some others too.

Fellow podcast guest Duncan Castles added: “They want to sell at a premium. They would also like to sell him to a high-ranking club.

“If they can sell to a club higher up the Premier League or in France - Monaco for example - or Spain or the Bundelsiga, also a possibility, then it’s good for them because they can use that as a sales point for players in the future.

They can say ‘we’ll put you in the shop window, give you games, Champions League football, if you play here and succeed and a big club come in we won’t stand in your way if the price is right for us’.”
