Ujjain: Catholics and Protestants take out attractive processions on Christmas eve

Ujjain: Roman Catholics and Protestants took out attractive processions on Christmas eve here on Sunday. The Christian community took out the procession in the morning after a special prayer. The processions from Azad Nagar Church and Masihi Mandir church combined at Saluja Nursing Home and from there proceeded to Teen Batti Square, Tower Chowk, Shahid Park, Police Control Room before returning to Azad Nagar Church.

In the procession of Catholic Church, caricatures of Mother Mary and little Jesus, angels of Heaven, fairies, churchmen and community people were present. The procession was led by Ujjain Diocese Bishop Sebastian Vaddakkel, Fr Anthony, Fr Shoni and Fr Jobi.

The procession of Protestants from Masihi Mandir Church included Pastor Kailash Taandi, Pastor Ashish, Shashi Titus and community members. In the evening, plays based on bible and Jesus were presented. Prayers began at 11 pm and at midnight the birth of Jesus was celebrated.
